Acres of Wildlife Steep Falls, ME A great place to bring the entire family. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Green Valley Beach, Newton, NJ 973-383-4026 A nice place to get away for a weekend. Heated pool and small lake.
Country Acres Family Campground Gordonville, PA 717-687-8014. Nice small campground right smack in the middle of Amish Country. Not much to do on site, a pool and great views of the farm land, but there's way too much to do in the area to hang around the campground anyway. It is a great place to relax after a busy day of site seeing or outlet shopping. The owners are very nice as well. HIGHLY Recommended.
Robin Hill Camping Resort Lenhartsville, PA 800-732-5267 Large campsite with a small pool, but I have heard that they have a new pool, Dorney Park is close by. Some nice activities and play areas for the kids.
Otter Lake, Marshalls Creek, PA 800-345-1369. Nice campground with lots to do, outdoor pool, indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and a lake. Book early it fills up fast. Owners are a little full of themselves though.
Cherrystone Family Camping and RV Resort Cheriton, VA 757-331-3063. There's no need to leave this place. Located on the Chesapeake bay. It does get hot during August. RECOMENDED
Knoebels Amusement Park and Campground Elysburg, PA 1-800-ITS-4FUN. The phone number says it all. Camping is pretty crowded but your there for the amusement park not for the camping. JUST GO THERE !
Beachcomber Camping Resort Cape May, NJ 1-800-233-0150. Nice place. hey have a lot of activities for the kids, a large playground, 3 pools, 2 small lakes, reasonably sized spots. A large number of seasonals. VERY strict with their rules. A little pricey though they do have some deals on certain weekends. RECOMENDED
Panther Lake Camping Resort Andover, NJ 973-347-4440 . Nice place to get away. Big pool, lake and lots of stuff to do. RECOMENDED
Walnut Hills Campground Staunton, VA 24401-6936 (800) 69-WALNUT. We stopped here for an overnight stay on our way to Tennessee, Its a nice CG with a small fishing pond in the middle of it all. Very clean although they do have some geese and you know what come along with those critters. You need to watch where you put things down. They have a nice pool and clean bathrooms but the showers are pretty cramped. The sites are a little tight but all in all a nice place to go.
Candy Hill Campground Winchester, VA 22602 800-462-0545. We stopped here on our way back from Tennessee, And It seemed to be a nice CG we probably would not stay here for more than an overnight stay. It is the closest we have come to camping in an open field.
Little River Village CG Townsend, Tennessee 800-261-6370. This is where the 2002 Eastern Pop-up rally was held, and what a great time we had. The folks at this CG were great and ran a very clean CG. The store was well stocked, pool and rest rooms were clean. The only gripe I have would be that the sites were really crammed in together. But there were some sites on the river that were nice.RECOMENDED.

Holly Shores Camping Resort Cape May, NJ 609-886-1234
smaller size with about 400 sites (there are several in the area with 1000 or more). Bathhouses were very clean, you will need quarters for 5 minutes of shower time, but there was plenty of water pressure and it heated up very fast. 5 minutes was actually too long for me. Sites are a little close to each other but not terrible. There are 2 play areas for the kids, a nice dog park, pool and a pavilion.
Sun Retreats Cape May Cape May, NJ 888-886-2477.
Shower and bathrooms were very clean and plenty of room in the shower stalls with plenty of hot water. This is a very large campground with alot of golf carts. Once epople started to show for the Memorial Day weekend it didi start to get a bit roudy with several loud parties going on well into the night.
Woodland Campground 314 Egypt Rd, Woodland, PA 16881.
While this campground is not the typical type of campground that we normally stay at, it was a great place for us to stop and rest up on our journey. The grounds are neat and clean although the restrooms did have several toilets out of commission. The hosts were super nice and accomadating.
Berlin RV Park 5898 SR 39
Millersburg, OH 44654.
Again, this is not the typical Campground that we stay at, but the campground was immaculate! Well kept and the sites were spaced out well. The restroom has to be the absolute best I have ever seen. The shower area is a private room along with a sink and ample room to change.
Old Mill Stream Campground 2249 Lincoln Highway east, Lancaster, PA (717)299-2314
Along side the Dutch Wonderland amusement park
This campground is 15 acres of very tightly fit RV spots with a few tent sites along the creek. The bath houses were very clean and had plenty of hot water. It has a small playground for the kids and no pool. The fire rings seemed to be placed in random spots that made some of them difficult to use as you can not move them.
Niagra Falls / Grand Island KOA 2570 Grand Island Blvd.

We were not all that impressed with this campground. It did have some nice ammenities. The two pool areas were very nice but could have used a life guard or at least someone to keep order. There was also a very nice playground for the kids as well as two jumping pads. The recreation area had lots of games like ping pong, corn hole, and others and the daily activities were well run. There were also some very nice looking cabins although I did not see what they were like on the inside.
Pay close attention to where it is on the map because the campground is right next to a busy highway and the noise was prevalent throughout the campground and crazy loud if you are in the "overflow area". The restrooms had the potential of being very nice, the family style had a private shower and toilet area. Unfortunately during our stay (7 days) they were cleaned only once in the AM during the weekend and maybe every other day during the week. The ones we used were out of paper towels after three days and never replenished.
The camp store was extremely expensive, e.g. a bundle of firewood, 6-7 pcs was $12 and 3lbs of half melted ice was $3. There was also very few trees to offer any kind of shade. One last thing is the campground could use a pavillion that the campers could use during bad weather. The rec area had a room but it was closed off when there were no activities.
Honestly for the money and being a KOA I expected a better experience at the campground. It is probably OK if you are looking to spend a night or two, but I can not recomend it for an extended stay.
Lakewood Park Campground 26 Park Avenue, Barnesville, PA 18214 Phone 570-285-8026
This campground itself has quite a history as it once was a small amusement park started in the early 1900's.
The sites are reasonably spaced out but still a little close in some instances. Our site was in the far end of the campground, we had planty of room but it was down the road from some of the campgrounds work buildings which made the road we were on pretty busy with the workers on their side by sides driving by often.
The bath house, which is one of my favorite things to complain about, was immaculate throughout our entire stay. You had your own private room with shower, sink, and toilet.
Be warned that there is a working train track next to the campground, a train would roll through a few times each day and someties later on at night, but aside from the whistle it was not all that disturbing and the trains were not all that long.
The campground does have kayacks, canoes and paddle boats avaible to use for free, which is an awesome perk as most places would overcharge you for that service. There was a small covered pavillion with picnic tables but the dirt floor made it difficult to do anything other than sit there.
There is also a event venue that is part of the campground called Catalapa Grove, which looks like an awesome place for an event.

Depending onm what side of the campground you are on will make your view either magnificant or just eh. Obviously the closer to the water you are the better the view, but the other side is a hyway and the back of a grocery store. (although having a store within walking distance wasnt so bad.) We rented an onsite RV this trip, The rig was quite large with room for up to 6. The grill that was advertised was aweful and I wouldnt use it, it was crazy rusty and just scarey to use. The camper was also pretty close to the one next to it which made using the fire ring sketchy at best. There are at least 2 comunal gas fire pits which the group we were with made use of. The sites not near the cabins and other rentals were further apart. Like most "resorts" that cater to the large motorhomes and trailers, trees were far and few, making it more of a parking lot.
Have I mentioned that we like trees?
Amenities were nice with tennis and pickle ball courts, a playground, dog parks, an area with food trucks, two pools, one with a Tiki Bar, and docks on the St. Lawrence along with boat rentals. Restrooms were clean mainly because they are hardly used. The biggest downside is the price. Be prepared to empty your wallet along with your kids piggy banks.
